Design, Simulation, and Manufacturing of Composite Components
We have gained many years of experience in the design and manufacturing of carbon fiber composite components, working across a variety of application sectors, from automotive to biomedical, as well as the development of advanced tubular structures. Our expertise ranges from optimizing laminate sequences to the practical realization of components, supported by strong proficiency in FEM software dedicated to composite material analysis and design.
Throughout our research and development activities, we have explored innovative and cutting-edge topics. We have investigated the integration of elastomeric materials into laminates to enhance vibration damping and impact absorption, and studied the combination of metal and carbon fiber in tubes, leveraging the mechanical properties of both materials to achieve high-performance hybrid solutions. In addition, we have experimented with carbon fiber curing techniques based on electrical resistance, with the goal of optimizing production processes while reducing time and costs compared to traditional methods.
Our expertise is further strengthened by hands-on activities in composite material characterization: we have directly carried out standardized tests on tensile strength, compression, and three- and four-point bending, using dedicated presses and building a comprehensive know-how that combines theory, simulation, and experimental practice.
A particularly important field of application for us is the biomedical sector. We have developed innovative carbon fiber prostheses, for which we have also filed a dedicated patent. Beyond the product itself, we have created a proprietary design method to optimize the laminate sequence of fiber layers, thereby improving the performance, reliability, and durability of these prostheses.
For those interested in exploring our work further, our scientific and R&D publications can be found on Google Scholarsimply by searching our names, Marco Povolo and Johnnidel Tabucol. On Google Patents, you can also find our patent on prostheses, with Johnnidel Tabucol listed as the first inventor.
Thanks to this unique combination of skills—merging research, advanced design, and practical application—we are able to provide our clients with tailored, robust, and innovative engineering solutions to address the most complex challenges in the field of composite materials.
